Well, I suppose it’s for the best. Maybe someone will release and undub patch for the NA version, which would solve pretty much the only good reason you continued this patch. All in all, I love the work you did on Aqua’s story and think you should definitely continue doing other patches. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if you were to get into doing official translations for Square Enix later on in your life. I’ll be looking for your name in the credits to the games that I buy.

By the way, do you think you could still make a “No Subtitle” patch for this game like I suggested in the other post? It seems like it could be done relatively easily considering the fact that you would only be deleting text instead of changing it. If it’s too much work don’t worry about it.

To be honest, there won’t be an undub for the US version, because they added in a bunch of new content, that will probably be voiced. And If an undub were done, then you would have either a lot of unvoiced scenes, or you would have them suddenly speaking English once you got to a different world.

KeybladeSpirit,i believe Truthkey has a cheatcode that makes the subs dissapear, i’ll ask him

Also, you just have to patch the whole ISO, no more ripping .DAT’s
If this occures problems then i’ll just upload patches for the .DAT’s seperately

Also there is a possibility that the USA version gets an undub, but it is possible with alot of hacking, who knows, someone might do it

Yeah i voted tales of destiny 2 from what i hear Phantasian is working on it after there phantasia patch and Destiny DC patches are done (so a long time) and its the ps2 version i think you should help them or callaborate on something its possible to port over the ps2 translation work to the psp version also.

If a Final Mix version of Birth by Sleep is released in Japan after the North American version, would you translate it by any chance? It seems likely that there will be a Final Mix, since the NA version was confirmed to contain extra content.

TERRANORT PATCH How to:

1.open ppf-o-matic
2.put your iso in the first line (yes, the entire aquapatched iso)
3.put the TMP.ppf in the second line
4.click on apply patch.
5.done

In my personal opinion it was the right decision , you obviously wanted to move on from KH:BBS and now you can. I just hope you see a patch through to the end this time and not just release partial patches

It’s good to see Tales of Destiny 2 is winning ( for now ), it’s a wonderful game, and I seriously hope I can play it in English some day x3

I think some people are confusing this TOD2 with TOD2 that was released on the PSX … that one is Tales of Eternia, they just changed the name for the US version.

I kept an eye since your first patch for BBS on PSPGWEBER and I’ve been very impressed by the speed of your releases and their high qualities.
I think you accomplished a great work and you deserved rest for this hard work.
Because it is. The limited space for replacing Kanjis require to shorten the english sentences of the characters.
It isn’t simple not to betray their texts, and I think you did it well.

If I can talk about it, it’s because I tested THE Hex editor which you mentioned, with the option which suits it well The limitations of texts are often hard, but we can do it. Plus, I noticed a very useful manipulation of the code for the edition of the text.

In your last patch, I want to report you that few sentences disappeared in the middle acts of Cinderella.
I verifie your ppf closely and I patched it lots of time, the texts are complete BUT an error of the code often returns and it causes this disappearance on the screen.

It’s the decimal 00 which serves normally to mark the beginning and the ending of the text on the screen.
Here, it often replaced the decimal 20, which serves to mark the space and the decimal 0A, which serves for the transition to the next line.
I modified the false data by comparing with a BB0 untouched and the text appeared normally.

You said recently that a bug caused the disappearance of the text. Could it be this, the cause ?

If I’ve noticed that, it’s thanks to the manipulation which I’ve talked before.
Actually, I’m very interested by the fonction of the decimal 0A. I noticed that 0A can be placed freely despite its starting position AND we create it in a text which have not got one.

So, a long sentence as :
[00]Have you met anyone named[20]Master Xehanort around here?[00]

can become :
[00]Have you met anyone named[0A]
Master Xehanort around here?[00]

when you replace 20 by 0A.

I think it’s very useful to avoid a punctuation between 2 sentences which display in the screen and to gain one letter for example.
Does it can interest you to continue your patch ? I’d be happy ^^

Anyway, thanks a lot for the patch of Aqua. I stopped at the Dwarf Woodland for beginning the story with Terra. I doubt that the end of your patch has declined in quality. I’ll appreciate it later

sorry for the double post but i found the solution to those who are having trouble because the game freezzes…u just need to play the prologue with the aqua patch then save and play with the terra patch…it seems that the terranort mod is what’s giving the issue because it only freezzes when u are chosing which character to play

@kurasa25 it depends where are u in the storyline and if u are playing with aqua…ven or terra…tat first it didn’t worked for me on any point but i applied the prometheus v4 patch and my aqua savefile loads fine…the only 2 pints where it froze were when i have to choose which story to play and when i tried to play the command board whit Terra

I wouldnt go that far and say all that. If i was philip, i would just translate them for myself, because I wouldnt have al the pressure of other people sayin shit like “oh philip help me im stuck” and stuff like that or “oh philip theres this wrong and that fix it for me!” and If he really wanted to release them, only say there is one release and thats it. Anyone who wanted more from it do it themselves. Philip was a very good translator and got it done. It wasn’t his fault because of a shotty editor. So philip keep translating, even if its just for yourself. Many people would appreciate as little or as much translations and work u put in. Just because of one project, don’t get discouraged. Just be careful on promising, its hard to not break promises sometimes. lol

Phil, I know you’re gone but if you get the chance to read this, please reply: I read the post by sk about replacing the decimal 20 with 0A. If you would upload the corrupted patch and tell me the hex editor you’re using, I could probably take the time to try and debug it. I’m pretty bored as it is, so I’ve got a lot of time I can kill working on it.
